Living Anew, May 2011

Gosh, time flies. Still living in the 'hood', but more living anew than in the hood. Health has stabilized and the going term: 'Stable and fragile' are the words my eye doc still uses.

Am in the market for a new apartment if I can snag one of those 80/20 apartment lotteries which allow low income folks to rent apartments in luxury building. Have applied for what was available and awaiting word. Constantly checking out the WEB sites that show these availabilities. Google "80/20 Rental Lotteries" to check out what I am writing about.

Or go to:http://www.nyc.gov/html/hpd/html/apartment/lotteries.shtml, if you seek such a place in New York City.

In the meantime am currently on a task force with New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) management to improve living conditions in the complex in which I live as well for all of Manhattan, as a test market so to say. The invitation to join and subsequent elevation to the task force has made me more aware of the high level of competence for NYCHA management and the problems they deal with on an hourly basis.

Applied for a new position which I will, if selected, become a member of the five person board of directors of NYCHA.

I expect to find out if I made the short list in a few weeks.

Overall, life is otherwise good, and most, if not all, of my relationships with those that count have improved, from my ex wife to my sons and my close friends.

Not that these relationships were bad to start off with but they are much better as I write this. That is good news.

My love based relationship which started in 2009 ended back in 2010, and I am seeing many women on a first date basis. Lots and lots of first dates, and enjoying the experience. Should someone come along who is really special (I recently met a woman who fits that description), I will be open to more of the same as we had experienced on our first date.

In a way, this new-found relationship is up to her willingness to go deeper in what is developing. If not, well, I can not force anything. That's for sure.

So that's it for now and be sure to check out Living Anew Magazine on the link in the earlier post. Yes, it is difficult to read the copy and I am working on that as the file that was created from the original copy is posted in Google's Picasa, and in a file format (not PDF) that does not seem to allow for magnification. If you have any suggestions, please advise.

Am seeking a site where I can post a PDF format for free which will allow all to access.
